About Orlando Orthodontist

Dr. Gilbert A. Principe has achieved many accomplishments throughout his career-long devotion to orthodontics, A graduate of Florida State University who majored in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Principe earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville Dental School, Louisville, Ky. He received specialty training at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. where he earned his master's degree in orthodontics. As a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, Dr. Principe established the Navy's first orthodontic department in Japan. He served as Head of Orthodontics.

During his more than 25 years in private practice, Dr. Principe has been actively involved in professional and community organizations. He has served as President of the Florida State Central District Dental Association, the Lake County Dental Society and the Easter Seal Society. He has also served as chairman of the committee for Public Relations for the Florida State Dental Association. Memberships include American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Florida Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, Lake County Dental Society, Dental Society of Greater Orlando, and F.A.C.E., Institute for the Advanced Orthodontic Education.

Dr. Principe and his dedicated staff enjoy a reputation for providing personalized, quality orthodontic care for patients of all ages. His enthusiasm for his specialty stems not only from the obvious improvement in aesthetics and health that result from straight teeth, but also from the positive physiological effects of improving self-esteem and confidence that is so important at an early age.

The Dr.'s practice offers the latest orthodontic technology utilizing different brackets including Clarity, Smart Clip, Damon, Innovation and Speed. We also offer Invisalign which allows adults and adolescents to discretely correct their bite and achieve a pleasing smile without having traditional braces attached to the teeth.

Dr. Principe was recently voted one of "Top Dentists in America" by his peers for the Second Year. This Honor was recently Published in the February 2005 Issue of "The Orlando Magazine".
